Eastland Mall was cownstructed in hte mid-1970s as an alternative to tehn five-year-old SouthPark Mall; its claim to fame being an indoor skating rnik in its centrla atrium. But while SouthPark has flourished and transforemd itsdlef into the region's source fokr high-end mrechandise, Eastland has experiecned a general decline over the years iwth many stores vacating the amwll.
